In this commissioned piece I wanted to transform the atrium and give a whole new feeling. I took my point of departure in hope and transformation – but with a cautious reflection on the uncertainty of what is to come.
The elements in the piece are a mixture of many different natural elements with ambiguous meanings and stories. These elements show up at the exact point when the characteristically dark Danish winter is about to end and spring is hinting at taking over – among these is the northern lapwing which is a migratory bird which can be spotted in the early spring circling the terrain here in the area as is a sign of a shift towards warmth and light – but also at a point where there is as much of a likelihood of an extended period of time with temperatures below zero.
